I surrendered my life to Christ in June 2010 and I later migrated to Canada, December of that said year. Being away from my mother and family for the very first time brought its challenges and I knew I had to rely on Christ more than ever. For a few years, I did not have a church to call my own but I continued to live for Christ and would visit different local churches from time to time.
I found myself searching for purpose and meaning in people whether that was via friends or relationships. At my lowest point in 2017, I first attended the Agincourt Church of God (ACOG) upon being invited by a close friend of mine. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the people and the amazing praise and worship experience. Pastor Blake and his wife Claudene are two phenomenal leaders that I grew to adore for their strong commitment to the Lord, continuous support, love, and being attentive to the needs of their members especially when you need them most. There have been several times where I have called on the First Lady, Claudene and she has been consistently supportive and always leaving me with a word of encouragement. Thanks to her & Pastor’s love and support I have been tuning into uplifting virtual sessions hosted by the Women’s Ministry and looking forward to being onboard with the community outreach committee for outreach activities the church will be pioneering.
ACOG has certainly been a blessing to me and in my opinion, they live up to their mission statement: “A Christ-centered church with a people caring ministry”. The ACOG fellowship is simply an experience worth giving a try, my experience was and continues to be a great one.
